Daniel Burgin

Daniel Burgin has been appointed as Head of Asia Pacific for NYSE Technologies in September 2011 and has served since then as a member of NYSE Technologies’ Operating Committee.

Prior to joining the NYSE Euronext Group (from 2001 to 2011), Daniel was the CEO of Metabit Co. Ltd., Tokyo which was acquired by NYSE Technologies in September 2011.

Before taking the assignment to build up Metabit’s business, Daniel’s professional career spanned 12 years at UBS Securities in different managerial business positions in Switzerland and Japan, being appointed Executive Director and Regional Manager Equities IT Asia Pacific of UBS Securities Japan in 1999.

Daniel graduated from the Federal Business School of Commerce in Lenzburg, Switzerland and has a Swiss Federal Degree in Organization and Project Management.

Michael is Vice President and Manager of the Global TCA Services group in the Global Trading division at State Street Global Advisors in Boston. He is responsible for all facets of Transaction Cost Analysis and centralized TCA reporting services to support Global Trading and Portfolio Management. Michael joined SSgA in 1995 as VP of Equity Trading Technology in the firm's IT division and spent 5 years overseeing the advancement and globalization of SSgA's electronic trading capabilities. After Y2K he moved into the trading area to start SSgA's TCA group in February 2000. Under Michael's direction, SSgA's TCA capabilities have grown to cover Equities, Futures, Foreign Exchange, and Fixed Income. Prior to SSgA, Michael spent 14 years as a software engineer at the econometrics firm Data Resources and two years at Harvard Management Company developing systems for fixed income portfolio management and trading.

Michael has been an active proponent of the FIX Trading Community (Formerly FIX Protocol Limited) and served as SSgA's representative on the FIX U.S. Steering Committee between 1997 and 2002. He was elected co-chair of that committee in 1999 and served on the FIX Board of Directors through 2002. He currently co-chairs the FIX-TCA Working Group which is establishing guidelines for standardizing best practices for the TCA industry.

Michael holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Daniel Webster College and a degree in Engineering Technology from Northeastern University.

Prior to moving to Singapore seven years ago, Richard was Head of Asian Equity Dealing at ADIA for just over 4 years and before that he worked for Scottish Widows Investment Partnership in Edinburgh. He currently heads up a team of 8 looking at multi-asset investments mainly in Asia but also in Latin America and Global Emerging Markets.

   
Sukju Hwang

Sukju Hwang is Senior Developer and Consultant at Koscom. He has worked on market data feed and FIX OMS for over 10 years and specialises in algorithmic trading technology. He launched the first algorithmic trading system, PowerAlgo, in Korea in 2006. He is currently working on the new Koscom OMS - KFront and its algo trading platform.

Sukju is also the founder of Korea Algorithmic Trading Forum which has more than 400 members. He opens public summit quarterly and is currently introducing algo trading and TCAs.

Sukju holds a Master's degree in Economics from Yonsei University, and Bachelor degree in Business from KAIST.

With over 15 years of experience in the Equity Derivatives sector, he got the Best Analyst Awards from Korean newspapers (Maekyung, Hankyung, etc) several times since 2002. Dr. Hyo Seob Lee

Dr. Hyo Seob Lee is the research fellow of derivatives department in Korea Capital Market Institute. His research areas include investment, derivatives, portfolio strategy, and financial economics. He also joined research projects with Financial Services Commission, Financial Supervisory Service, Korea Stock Exchange, Korea Financial Investment Association, and National Pension Fund.

He takes a Ph.d degree in financial engineering division of KAIST Business School. He was a managing fellow of KAIST Student Investment Fund from 2007 through 2009.

   
Edward Mangles

Mr. Edward Mangles is the founder and Publisher of GlobalTrading, the official publication of the FIX Trading Community. He has a long history within the financial technology sector and has worked closely with FIX Trading Community for a number of years. He has supported the organisation’s Asia Pacific committee for the past 10 years, playing a key role in promoting FIX adoption across the region. He has also worked for leading financial publishing and marketing firms in both London and Hong Kong. In March 09 Mr. Edward Mangles was appointed FIX Trading Community Asia Pacific Regional Director.

Gene W. Oh

Gene Oh joined Korea Exchange Bank's capital markets group five years ago and is a manager on the Foreign Currency Treasury Team, where his duties focus on debt origination, systems development, and non-KRW denominated funds management. Prior to this, he traded his own ETF, equities, and derivatives portfolio for KEB.

Prior to moving to Korea, Gene had over a decade of experience in developing algorithmic trading systems, marketing cross currency and interest rate swaps, and building out a historical market risk system for Bank of America, ABN AMRO, and US Bank.

Gene holds a B.S. in Management and MIS from the Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Seoul National University.
