Mr. Chia is Executive Director and Head of Asia Research at MSCI Inc. Based in Hong Kong, Mr. Chia oversees the firm’s index research, applied research and ESG research operations in Asia. Mr. Chia is a key member of the MSCI Equity Index Committee responsible for editorial decisions related to MSCI indices and also sits on the MSCI New Product Development Committee. Mr. Chia is a regular speaker at industry events on topics related to asset allocation, portfolio construction and investment risk management. Before joining MSCI, Mr. Chia was a buy-side analyst at HSBC Asset Management and held Director level position at the Ministry of Trade & Industry Singapore. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Economics from the National University of Singapore and is a CFA Charter holder.

Alan Dean, Global Head of Cross Asset FIX, is responsible for developing the global cross asset financial information exchange connectivity value proposition for HSBC. His team provides development and maintenance of the FIX environment and customer on-boarding including customer support services, enabling HSBC’s customers to trade equities, futures or FX online across the FIX gateways in the US, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Alan spent 20 years in information technology in the markets arena, before transferring into the business area in 2007. Prior to joining HSBC in 2005, Alan was Chief Technology Officer of E-Crossnet, where he created an online multi-broker trading environment that enabled straight through processing for customers orders or executions and FIX enabling the buy-side equities matching environment for the firm.

Jack He joined BNY Mellon Western FMC in April 2009. Previously Jack has worked in the U.S. for PA Consulting, Johnson & Johnson, Maples Securities and Hess Energy Trading in a variety of IT-related roles, ranging from software development, IT consulting, IT architecture design and risk management technologies. His areas of expertise include Geographic Information Systems, System Dynamics, database design and risk/trading infrastructure. Jack received his undergraduate degree from Beijing Univ. and his master’s degree from M.I.T.

George Jia serves as China Business Manager for Omgeo. Mr. Jia is responsible for managing Omgeo’s China business, with a focus on Sales, Relationship Management and Industry Relations. He has been with Omgeo since April 2009.

Mr. Jia came to Omgeo from Thomson Reuters, where he headed China Expert Network business unit, focusing on providing primary research to hedge fund industry. Prior to moving to financial services industry, he spent nine years in the semiconductor industry working for Future Electronics, the world third largest semiconductor distributor. He held various positions in both their worldwide headquarters, Montreal and Shanghai. One of it was the Regional Manager for Central China managing the business with annual revenue over 80 million USD.

Mr. Jia holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada.

Mr. Edward Mangles is the founder and Publisher of FIXGlobal, the official publication of the FIX Protocol. He has a long history within the financial technology sector and has worked closely with FPL for a number of years. He has supported the organisation’s Asia Pacific committee for the past 9 years, playing a key role in promoting FIX adoption across the region. He has also worked for leading financial publishing and marketing firms in both London and Hong Kong. In March 09 Mr. Edward Mangles was appointed FPL Asia Pacific Regional Director.

Punit Mittal heads the Global Electronic Trading group at Daiwa Securities Capital Markets Co. Ltd. and is responsible for DMA, Algorithmic Trading, Liquidity Management and Trade Cost Analysis for Equities and Derivatives business on global markets.

Previously he was Head of Execution Products at BNP Paribas and Barclays Global Investors in Tokyo. Mr. Mittal has earned Bachelors in Commerce and Economics from Mumbai University, India and Masters of Applied Finance from Macquarie University, Australia.

Edmond Ng is Head of Global Custody, China, HSBC Securities Services and is based in Beijing. The role is a new position and will act as the senior point-contact for all global custody and related product delivery matters for global custodian mandates originating from China domiciled clients, specifically mandates from Sovereign Wealth Funds and QDII clients. The immediate responsibility is to provide local support for current mandates awarded to HSS. The role will have responsibility for ensuring that client expectations are met on an ongoing basis and will report locally into Head of HSS China and functionally into Head of Global Custody.

Edmond was Head of Custody Services, Global Custody Europe from Oct 2007 to Oct 2009. Prior to the posting in London, he was Head of Custody and Treasury Services, Asia based in Hong Kong for a number of years after taking up department head positions in Compliance and Controls, and Operations since his arrival at HSBC Securities Services in 1997. Prior to HSBC, Edmond had another twelve years of experience working in two large international audit firms, and also taking up senior positions in Financial Control and Fund Administration in a Bermuda based bank in the UK, Bermuda and Hong Kong.

Edmond holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Bath, UK. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales as well as the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Yang TieCheng is a partner of Clifford Chance and is based in Beijing, heading the firm's China financial services regulatory practice. He was qualified as a PRC lawyer in 1994. As a native Mandarin speaker, TieCheng is fluent and is able to work in English.

Prior to becoming a professional lawyer, TieCheng spent over four years in a non-banking financial institution (Beijing International Trust and Investment Corporation) and worked as a credit officer and an in-house counsel in its International Finance Department. Over 16 years' experience in the PRC legal market, TieCheng specialises in various finance areas in the PRC, focusing on innovative financial products and structures. He has extensive experience in new financial areas, including financial derivatives, equity and commodity derivatives, securitisations, wealth management products, trust, Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (QFIIs), Qualified Domestic Institutional Investors (QDIIs), RMB PE funds, RMB QFII, etc.

Sam Young is head of 2RICH QDII Research, a subsidiary of FX168 Group. He has rich experience in QDII and global market research. He helps to create the first third-party QDII research business in mainland China.

Hua Zhang is an analyst in Celent's Asian Financial Services Group and is based in Beijing. His financial services experience includes both the banking and securities sectors in China.

Prior to joining Celent, he worked at Lenovo, where he was project manager for an SAP financial solution. Prior to that, He joined Microsoft as a presales engineer. He has also worked on designing solution sets for workflow, data integration, financial and cost control solutions, and knowledge management.

Mr. Zhang’s commentary on the financial services industry has appeared in numerous publications, including South China Morning Post, China Daily, Securities Industry News, Waters magazine, Asian Banker, Asian Investor, and American Banker.

He received his B.A. from Wuhan University and his master's in software engineering from Tsinghua University. He is fluent in Chinese and English.
