You are cordially invited to join our Management Luncheon Series on “How Artificial Intelligence is Shaping the Future of Banking?” which will be held on 17th April 2018 (Tue).

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) are the new buzzwords in the financial industry. These technologies are playing a vital part to open the new possibilities for customer engagement, business innovations and optimization.

Our guest speakers will look beyond the hype and discuss the capabilities and applications of AI and ML in Banking as well as the benefits they bring. Mr. Raul Abreu, Head of Conversational AI (Banking) Innovation of HSBC will look at how conversational AI can be deployed, the implementation issues and the common misconceptions around these technologies. Dr. Dennis Leung, Director of Pre-sales of SAS Hong Kong will look at how ML can be a valuable tool to drive the operational efficiency and services excellence, especially in today’s digital-banking era, where data is more available than ever and data volume has increased exponentially. He will also look at how financial institutions can apply advanced analytics and ML in areas like data management, personalized customer experience, credit risk modelling and fraud detection etc.

Raul Abreu currently leads HSBC Innovation team development efforts in the field of Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning, with a strong focus on building the next generation of conversational banking for HSBC. He has previously held various international positions in technology, product and business development for Silicon Valley and European technology startups and MNCs across multiple continents in the areas of AI/ML, Big Data, Cloud Computing and Mobile. In a previous life, he also worked as R&D scientist for the European Space Agency (ESA) on the Planck Space Observatory mission designed to observe anisotropies of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) to unlock the secrets of the origin of the universe.

He holds an MSc in Astrophysics from the University of La Laguna (Spain) completed at The Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (Oxford, UK) and an MBA from University of Bradford School of Management (UK).

   
   

Dr. Dennis Leung

Dennis Leung is Director of Presales for SAS Hong Kong. He leads a team of presales specializing on different area of analytical expertise and industrial practice.

An industry veteran for over 30 years and has experience on software development, consultant, presales and sales in various Fortune 500 companies. Dennis’ specialty in analytics is real time predication engineering structure dynamics and Case Base Reasoning.

Prior to joining SAS, Dennis served various senior roles in Oracle including GM Application Sales of Oracle Hong Kong and GM Applications Channel for Oracle APAC.

Dennis holds a degree in Engineering and PhD in Structural Dynamics from UCL, London University UK.
