Ashishkumar Chauhan

Ashish is the Deputy CEO, Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the oldest stock exchange in Asia. Ashish also serves as a Board member on United Stock Exchange (USE) and Indian Clearing Corporation Limited (ICCL) in addition to serving as a member/trustee on several committees and trusts.

Ashish worked as the President and Group CIO at Reliance, the largest private sector business house in India with turnover in excess of US $ 35 billion from 2000 to 2009. In his role as a Group CIO, he was in charge of IT Applications framework for Reliance group and has been given many outstanding awards from the industry.

Ashish is known as one of the five founders of India’s largest automated exchange: the National Stock Exchange (NSE), which is considered to be amongst the top three markets in the world ranked by number of trades per day and the largest single stock futures market in the world. The satellite communication network he set up for NSE has acted as a technology demonstrator for many other companies in India. He is considered as the pioneer who brought the ‘commercial satellite telecom’ to India and the father of ‘modern exchange traded financial derivatives’ markets in India.

Earlier, from 1991-93, he worked as an Industrial Finance Officer in the Project Finance Department of Industrial Development Bank of India.

He holds a B.Tech. in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), and Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM). He has delivered guest lectures to students at various business schools. He and his writings have been widely quoted in magazines, academic journals and trade journals in India and abroad.

Originally starting out as a Developer, Mr. Corballis has also worked as a Business Analyst, Project Manager, Entrepreneur, and Business Leader. Over the course of his career, Mr. Corballis has worked for large multinational firms such as Natwest, Barclays, Lloyds, CSC Computer Sciences, Ernst & Young, and AIG. Mr. Corballis has also worked as an adviser to the UK Government and has been instrumental in Rapid Addition’s success in going from a niche firm based in the UK to a provider of FIX technology globally.

Previously he was head program sales trader at Citi Global Markets Japan where he also led trading algorithm development. Ronald Gould is Chief Executive of Chi-X Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining Chi-X, Mr. Gould was Senior Advisor to the UK Financial Services Authority. He is former Chief Executive Officer/founder of ABG Sundal Collier ASA (“ABGSC”), a listed specialist investment bank with activities in investment research, securities trading, corporate finance and asset management.

Prior to ABGSC, Mr. Gould was Senior Executive Vice President and Managing Director of AXA Investment Managers, the AXA Group holding company for investment management activities. He was previously Vice Chairman of Barclays/BZW asset management business, responsible for the group’s extensive international expansion including the acquisition of BGI.

Mr. Gould’s career in the investment business includes research, portfolio management, institutional and mutual fund business development. He was the founder of one of the first international investment groups in the US, one of the first foreign owned Trust Banks in Japan and successful investment management companies in Asia, Japan, the UK and continental Europe.

Mr. Gould is an economics graduate of Washington University. Married with two children, he is an avid sailor, an undistinguished skier and an active consumer of Japanese history.

   
Anshuman Jaswal

Anshuman Jaswal is a senior analyst in Celent's Securities and Investments group and is based in the India office. Before joining Celent, Mr. Jaswal had varied work experience in corporate banking (erstwhile UTI Bank), research and consulting (AC Nielsen ORG-Marg) and insurance (ICICI Prudential Life Insurance). He has also been a founding partner in an education-based business. Economics (Honours) from School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, with a specialization in the Economics of Japan, China, and India, followed by an MBA in Finance. He is fluent in English and Hindi, has studied Spanish at the intermediate level, and French and German at the basic level. He has authored a book on commodity markets and is a visiting professor for Economics and Finance at IIM Indore, a leading Indian B-school.

Lamon Rutten

Mr. Lamon Rutten is Managing Director & CEO of MCX. A world-renowned authority on commodity markets, Mr. Rutten’s main area of focus at MCX is to drive the development of the entire commodities market value chain in India. Previously, Mr. Rutten was a part of the MCX team as Joint Managing Director.

Mr. Rutten has served as Chief of Finance, Risk Management, and Information in the Commodities Branch of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Geneva. After working on grain trade and collateralized grain finance in Mali, he joined UNCTAD in 1990. In UNCTAD, he was responsible for developing the organization’s work on commodity price risk management and structured finance. Since then, he has been doing extensive work in the areas of commodity policies, commodity market reforms, institutional developments (for the private and public sectors), upgrading the skills of the financial sector, and regulations affecting the commodity and financial sectors. He has published more than 40 papers on these issues and numerous articles, has spoken at well over a 100 seminars, and has conceptualized and organized many high-level conferences. He has been associated with UNCTAD till June 2006, excluding a period in 2000 - 2001 when he worked as a senior advisor with the International Task Force on Commodity Price Risk Management of the World Bank and January - April 2002 when he consulted to the Common Fund for Commodities. He is on the Board or Advisory Board of several companies in the United States, Middle East, Asia and Africa.

Mr. Rutten holds a postgraduate degree with honors in international economic management from Tilburg University, the Netherlands.

Peter Tierney

Prior to joining NYSE Euronext, Mr. Tierney held various senior management positions at TransactTools, BT Radianz, Omgeo and Thomson Financial with extended postings in major financial centers in Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific and the US.

Mr. Tierney’s previous roles cover strategic business development, sales and operational management, marketing and product development across front, middle and back office applications in the financial services space.

Based in Singapore, Mr. Tierney coordinates the customer facing activities (sales, presales, delivery and support) across the region through teams in Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
